It’s the Chit! – Organic

Characteristics

Chit malt is a highly under modified malt idea for foam, body and haze

Applications & Description

It's the Chit! Easier to mill than raw barley, it has only "chitted" or just started to germinate before it is lightly kilned in a manner similar to Admiral Pils to maintain a very light color. At 5-15% it gives great body, mouthfeel to a Helles or Pils and increased foam stability and head retention. At up to 25-40% it is useful to make a lower ABV beer. It can be used in place of dextrin malts or raw barley. It passes Reinheitsgebot law!

All of Admiral’s malts are produced from grain grown sustainably by California family farms. The Organic Copeland Barley used to produce Organic Chit Malt was grown using certified Organic practices by Cascade Farms in Tulelake, CA.
