Hip Cat Bio

From Hip-Hop to Jazz, Classical to Electronic, and everything in between, the Hip Cat Experience takes the familiar sounds of the world around us puts them together in a way that is both nostalgic and new. A multi-instrumentalist and woodwinds specialist, Hip Cat brings to the stage a sonic variety, with the soaring melodies of a classical flutist and the hard hitting, distorted riffs of Ian Anderson, as well as the pleasing, sometimes quirky or gritty saxophone tone reminiscent of Lester Young or Sam Butera.

Surfey dave bio:

Surfer Dave invites listeners to let themselves disappear into his colorful jazz harmonic palette, decidedly off-grid percussion, and distinctive ASMR-like “found sounds” – embodying composed structures over loop-driven writing.

In addition to solo material released by Sleep Tales, Aviary Bridge, and “queen of lofi” eevee’s record label (Secret Souls), he is known for his work as the principle producer for singer Criibaby (Friends of Friends), producing for rising lofi hip hop artist PandaRaps (Effortless Audio, Epidemic Sound), as well as collaborations with beatmakers like Somni, G Mills, Santpoort, and Joe Nora. Surfer Dave’s catalogue has generated over 5 million streams across all platforms.

Together, with of couple of the finest musicians in the scene (Zack Sanders on guitar and Jacob Gilmore on drums), the Hip Cat and Surfer Dave Jazz Quartet is excited to take you on a sonic journey through jazz, the blues, bossa nova, and wherever else we may go together!
